From outside, working in an arts district looks like murals, openings, live music, and meeting some genuinely crazy-cool people.

From inside, it also looks like… databases and spreadsheets. 😅

A lot of what I do on the tech side of Brookvale Arts District is, honestly, it may sound unsexy (but it is not): making sure the right info exists, and that it’s easy to find. For the team, for the community, for supporters, for anyone trying to understand what’s happening in Brookvale without getting lost in emails, docs, and loose ends.

On an average Thursday that looks like:

As an artist, that last part matters more than it sounds.

Because the cleaner the system gets, the more time I get back for the actual making. And that is the whole point.

That’s where Notion and AI have become genuinely useful. It means less time chasing context, less time re-explaining — more time for art, design, and the stuff that my brain actually enjoys, while still being able to achieve my co-founder tasks.

After a few years of quietly building this for BAD, I realised I’d basically built an operating system for coordinating a creative precinct. That became CP‑OS (Creative Precinct Operating System): a modular system that makes a precinct visible and manageable — what’s here, who’s here, why it matters, and how to connect.

🇻🇪 Cómo realmente es coordinar un distrito de arte

Desde afuera, trabajar en un distrito de arte parece murales, inauguraciones, música en vivo, y conocer gente genuinamente crazy-cool.

Desde adentro, también parece… bases de datos. 😅

Gran parte de lo que hago del lado técnico de Brookvale Arts District es, honestamente, puede sonar poco sexy: asegurarme de que la info correcta exista, y que sea fácil de encontrar. Para el equipo, para la comunidad, para quienes nos apoyan, para cualquiera que intente entender qué está pasando en Brookvale sin perderse entre emails, docs y cabos sueltos.

Un jueves promedio se ve así:

Como artista, esa última parte importa más de lo que suena.

Porque mientras más limpio se pone el sistema, más tiempo recupero para lo que de verdad importa: crear. Y ese es todo el punto.

Ahí es donde Notion y la IA se volvieron genuinamente útiles. Significa menos tiempo persiguiendo contexto, menos tiempo re-explicando — más tiempo para el arte, el diseño, y las cosas que a mi cerebro de verdad le gustan, sin dejar atrás mis tareas como co-fundador.

Después de un par de años construyendo esto para BAD, me di cuenta de que básicamente había armado un sistema operativo para coordinar un distrito creativo. Eso se convirtió en CP‑OS (Creative Precinct Operating System): un sistema modular que hace visible y manejable a un distrito — qué hay, quién está, por qué importa, y cómo conectar.
